Rhythm of a Heart in Suspension
Caught between the couch and the fireplace, you’ll think lovemaking will follow. It is imaginable that between the two he’s holding her down in his muscled arms with soft husky whispers as his growing intent becomes more unmistakable. She savors the moment as it seems their heart beat rhythmically as one. And this is where I say, ‘Snap out of it!’ Why? Because this is a rollercoaster ride all the way. And because in reality, women caught between the two either get burned with the fireplace or get semi-relaxation on the couch. A bed is always more comfortable.

The fireplace is the nest for the bad boy mode. The couch is where she has to settle with the presupposed, “it is what it is,” which is that most, if not all men have the bad boy genes. She gets to accept the low as a part of life and thus she is always semi-relaxed. The bedroom is where she’s most emotionally relaxed in a relationship with little fear of getting burned or settling with life. People in Heartbreak Suspension (last blog entry), unfortunately never get to the bedroom. They shuttle between fireplace and couch. In this episode of RecordsonwithDew I’m going to explore songs that capture hearts in suspension, beat to the rhythm of the emotional limbo between the couch and the fireplace.

Unmistakably and befittingly first on my list is Vivian Greens Emotional Rollercoaster. This song has the rhythm, the rhyme, the tone and the frequency of Heartbreak Suspension. She says, “So tired of you making love to me then disappearing so suddenly. Up and down it goes. And I’m so tired of you pacifying me. With promises you know that you’ll never keep. Round and round it goes. Emotional rollercoaster. Loving you ain’t nothing healthy. Loving you was never good for me. But I can’t get off.”

Vivian was on a low frequency. Now to the high (said it would be rollercoaster all the way) I go to pop-rock, to Katy Perry’s Hot’N Cold. She says, “Someone call the doctor. Got a case of a love disorder. Stuck on a roller coaster. Can’t get off this ride. You’re hot and you’re cold…You’re yes and you’re no. You’re in and you’re out. You’re up and you’re down.”

The third on my list takes me back to a low. And because I don’t want to be selfish, I will say Heartbreak Suspension happens to guys as well. My next song has a guy choosing to be in this suspension and he says it really happened to him. If it did, that’s really hot because he can feel that much. I have said with Feel! Hot Co-motion blog entry, that emotions are the hottest part of being human. The song is Mario Winan’s, I Don’t Wanna Know. He says, “I don’t wanna know. If you’re playin’ me, keep it on the low. Cause. my heart can’t take it anymore. And if your creepin, please don’t let it show. Oh baby, I don’t wanna know.”

The fourth on my list takes us back to a high. It is Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker. She details all the ways in which he breaks her heart and then begs him to “give me your love.” Such, the person whose hands are burning in the fireplace pleads for the one who doesn’t feel the pain to change his ways.

The last on my list is Blu Cantrell’s Breathe. Especially because she gives a response to Mariah Carey’s, “give me your love,” issue. She says, “When love hurts, It won’t work. Maybe we need some time alone. We need to let it breathe.” So ladies, breathe if you feel you have to. What else can you do? And you are definitely chilling with Dew. Who else can it be? There are two blogs today. The blog entry in memorial of Michael, A Potent Legacy: Michael Jackson is after this blog.
Something that happened by accident, but really great is new and free to read on Dewlogic. It was my work but it amazed me because it was the most fun so far I’ve poked at myself. It started off as my rant and then developed into a story. On my rants, I will stay on 3D Street for a while before I come back and introduce a new character, show you the real face of intellectual inferiority. We will have a first professor on 4D Street and Patroc will be there all the way. What can I do without him nowadays? He’s freaking cool.

Now back to what’s new on Dewlogic which is most unpredictable as Patroc gets between Me and Me. It is a Scifi, fantansy, mainstream, drama which started from my rant and developed into what it became. If you want to know what one of those look like, come to Dewlogic. You won’t be disappointed. Did I mention it was the most fun I’ve poked at myself. Believe me it was! As Dewlogic announces that it’s going beyond fiction with ease, Split by Dew Platt is free to read on Dewlogic. Dew Platt, Proving the Dewlogic difference with hard work everyday. Thank you for chilling with me.
